September 2004\nDer Bundestag hat das folgende Gesetz beschlossen:\nArtikel 1\nDem in New York am 6. September 2000 von der Bundesrepublik Deutsch-\nland unterzeichneten Fakultativprotokoll vom 25. Mai 2000 zum Übereinkom-\nmen über die Rechte des Kindes betreffend die Beteiligung von Kindern an\nbewaffneten Konflikten wird mit der Maßgabe zugestimmt, dass die Bundes-\nrepublik Deutschland bei der Hinterlegung der Ratifikationsurkunde die in Ar-\ntikel 3 Abs. 2 des Fakultativprotokolls vorgesehene Erklärung dahingehend\nabgibt, dass der Beginn des freiwilligen Dienstes als Soldatin oder Soldat in den\nStreitkräften der Bundesrepublik Deutschland vom vollendeten 17. Lebensjahr\nan zulässig ist. Das Fakultativprotokoll wird nachstehend mit einer amtlichen\ndeutschen Übersetzung veröffentlicht.\nArtikel 2\n(1) Dieses Gesetz tritt am Tag nach seiner Verkündung in Kraft.\n(2) Der Tag, an dem das Fakultativprotokoll nach seinem Artikel 10 Abs. 2 für\ndie Bundesrepublik Deutschland in Kraft tritt, ist im Bundesgesetzblatt bekannt\nzu geben.\nDie verfassungsmäßigen Rechte des Bundesrates sind gewahrt.\nDas vorstehende Gesetz wird hiermit ausgefertigt.
